I. Open Axis Three Software Icon
II. Select Patients to Open Patient database
- If new Patient Select Add New Patient
- If Existing Patient highlight patient thumbnail and choose New Face Scan
III. To capture a new scan of patient, position subject’s head at height on same plane as middle pole LED light, and at a depth of about 18 inches or close enough to the machine to have the patients’ ear’s in the view finder on screen.
It is recommended that the patient wear a headband to keep hair from falling in the picture, as hair will not be picked up in the picture and anything it is coving will be omitted from the scan.
NOTE- Make sure room is dark. Lights off and door closed
IV. Once the scan is taken, and the point cloud model has been successfully taken, the patients’ final scan will appear on screen. At this point plotting the necessary points will need to be done for simulations, for each facial aspect.
Currently Axis Three has Nose, Chin and Cheek capability with more to be added soon

Nose Points Plotted
Note: The plotted points may be edited for better results
V. Once the points are plotted, for each type of surgery, the simulation tools will become
available to the user.
